It also helps to run through the setup and configure where you want stuff downloaded to. The easiest way to find them is with an index site, think of it like a torrent tracker and search engine. NZB file for what you are seeking and open that with Sabnzbd. NZB files are basically an XML file with information about the file and its pieces. Hell last year for the TV season all I did was feed it a list of shows at the beginning and never touched it until the summer time. Usenet can be automated to the point where you barely ever interact with it. One of things I used to about doing the whole FILEZ scene was that yes you save money but even torrent stuff is a bit time consuming and even with RSS requires too much fiddling. The searching, downloading and etc are all happen automatically. Its like having commercial free TV and its all done for you.
For example I feed my file server a bunch of show names and movie titles, it literally searches for them once an hour, catalogs them for my HTPC which is hooked up to my HDTV and etc. You can basically automate the entire process. One of the main attractions of it is combining it with Sickbeard for TV and CouchPotato for movies. Its primarily built upon a web based frontend so if you need a more application level feel then its probably not for you. You do however have to feed it the files, it does not have built in search engines or anything like uTorrent. It has a ridiculous featurelist and automates as much or as little of the BS with Usenet NZB downloading as you like. SABnzbd works perfectly, in fact its probably the best nzb program on the Internet. Sabnzbd works with nzbs, you probably trying to feed it raw posts. I know i'm getting ripped off by Bell but it's the unlimited plan that's still keeping me there.
I already pay $65/month for internet and don't really want to add to my monthly costs. Even though it's $10/month for some of the usenet services, i still don't want to pay anything extra. I have Bell DSL with the unlimited grandfather plan. I'm on a private BT site so stuff is available relatively quickly I'm sure usenet is much better than torrents, but I'll stick with torrents for now for the following reasons: I finally figured out where I went wrong. i would say sabnzbd is way better compare to torrents ( fully automated.

it will monitor the indexing sites for that file and once its available, it will download it automatically and hand it over to sabnzbd. Download Couch potato app and set it up with sabnzbd. What it will do is download all the zipped file, repair them if needed, unzip them, put them to downloaded folder, delete all the temp files and do all the clean up for you !!!!. once u see the file in sabnzbd, on the right side pick '+Delete'.
nzb file and sabnzbd fill automatically pick the file and start downloading for you. nzb file ( i set this to my chrome download folder) Monitoring folder - this is where sabnzbd will monitor on a specified interval for new. Temp folder - this is where all the zipped format will be downloaded initiallyĭownload folder - this where the final binary will be present I understand ur pain but i felt the same thing when i first installed utorrent ( moved from DC++). Much easier to use and much more reliable. Then went on to Merlin's Portal and tried to download something. Diggler649 wrote: ↑Don't bother with sabnzbd.
